Lughnasadh, or Lúnasa in Gaelic, marks the first of the three great harvest festivals. It is a time to celebrate all we have sown and reaped throughout the waxing year. Now in the waning year, we begin to gather the first fruits of our labour ~ berries ripening & grains golden and ready for harvest.
This seasonal treatment is designed to cool and soothe the body in the peak of summer heat. We begin with an ice globe facial to tone and firm the skin, followed by lymphatic drainage massage using cooling moonstones along the legs and back ~ helping to lower body temperature, ease tension and relax the body, mind and soul.
Lymphatic drainage has many great benefits, from aiding the body's natural detoxification system to remedying sleep.
This offering not only honours the waning year but the waning moon. Traditionally celebrated on or near the full moon closest to August 1st, Lughnasadh reminds us to work in rhythm with nature’s cycles. Regardless of the moon's phase, we will channel its cooling influence through the use of moonstones, inviting balance and calm into our lives.
This massage works upon the face, stomach, legs and back areas. We will begin with a refreshing blackberry spritz and end with an intention release to harness the energy of Lughnasadh.
